Spanish classes

Our dynamic group course led by an experienced teacher who is a native speaker of Spanish offers a cost-effective and fun way to learn the second most popular language of South Florida. Classes meet twice a week, which allows slowly but surely to get to a good basic conversational level within approximately sixteen weeks. Using a lot of visuals and role-play, rather than focusing on tedious grammar rules and conjugations, the teacher will help you learn the language naturally. The great thing about living in South Florida is the abundance of radio stations and television programs in Spanish. Just turning it on and having it play in the background when you are not even paying attention is likely to help a student in this learning quest. And for those students who already have a basic foundation in Spanish, TV and radio offer free education in terms of practicing listening skills and comprehension. Looking up new words and then trying to use them in a sentence and thus making it a permanent part of vocabulary, or bringing new phrases to class and having the teacher show it can be used in Spanish will aide the learning even further. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced level groups are forming right now.

 

French classes

We now offer French group lessons for everyone who wishes to learn the language for business, travel, or personal growth. Acclaimed by many as one of the most beautiful languages in the world, French is also one of the most popular among those who are looking to learn a foreign language. Our group classes are fun, conducted almost entirely in French, so the learners have an opportunity to get used to the sound of the language and get immersed into thinking in French at least for duration of the class. The primary focus of the course is to develop listening, and most importantly, speaking skills. The course will also involve reading and writing, and, since French uses the familiar Latin alphabet, it will be a piece of cake! Homework will be assigned regularly in order to reinforce the newly learned skills and make French a part of your life. Cultural notes about France will help the learners get an insight into the culture and help prepare a traveler for a trip to this, or another French-speaking country. The course is taught by a native speaker of French who is a trained teacher. A student who is a total beginner can expect to get to a survival level of proficiency in the French language after having taken approximately four months of classes. There is a special rate for advance registration for a four-month course, or, if you wish to pay as you go, you may purchase your lessons in blocks of four weeks. Beginning, intermediate and advanced level classes are currently open for enrollment.

 

Italian classes

Group classes in Italian offer a fun and inexpensive way to acquire this romantic language. Our Italian instructor is a native speaker who will first teach the language in a classroom and then allow the students to practice their newly learned skills with other native speakers in the real-world, for example, in small Italian restaurants which can be found in abundance in South Florida. It doesn’t mean that all lessons will be accompanied by a dish of risotto and a glass of Barolo, but occasional field trips for practicing are guaranteed! We recommend a sixteen-week program for beginners who want to get to a good basic conversational level in Italian, or those students with prior knowledge who want to see significant improvement in their skills. However, the option of taking four weeks of classes at a time is also available. Classes are currently open for enrollment for beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.

  

Portuguese classes

A large Brazilian population in South Florida offers a lot of business opportunities to those who can speak Portuguese, and our inexpensive but effective group course may help open a lot of doors to acquiring new customers or strengthening relationships with the current ones. In addition to that, being able to speak the language of other people often brings with it understanding of the way they think which is always valuable in building relationships. Our group classes will center around communication skills, but will also touch on other aspects of the language such as reading and writing. Small class size of just 5-10 students allows for personalized attention of the instructor who is there to model how the language is spoken and to correct pronunciation to make it sound as close to that of a native. The instructor is a native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese, and is an experienced teacher who utilizes conversational approach to second language acquisition which has made our school famous during the last 26 years. Classes are offered to students of all levels of proficiency. To get the most out of this course, students are strongly encouraged to practice the new language as much as possible outside of classroom which should not be a problem considering the large population of Brazilian students who are learning English at our school!  

 

German classes

Whether you are planning a trip to a German-speaking country, or work with Germans, learning to speak this language may be rewarding and fun. German classes are taught by a native speaker and an experienced teacher who uses conversational approach. From the moment the students step into the classroom until the time they leave, they will hear German speech so that they can get used to the sound of the language, and practice the newly learned words and phrases. In addition to learning German, the students might also learn more discipline because in order to be successful with learning this language, one will need to devote some time to studying it on his or her own. In addition to that, group study is really motivating, and experience shows that learners in a group setting do their share of practicing at home in order to be at the same level with other participants. Classes meet twice a week, which allows enough time in between classes for the brain to “digest” the newly learned material, and make it a part of the student’s set of skills. After having taken the sixteen-week course students are expected to arrive at a level where they can satisfy their needs such as for lodging, meals, transportation, exchanging basic information. Enrollment for intermediate and advanced level groups is presently open as well. Learning a language is a life-long process but this is definitely a good starting point! 

 

Russian classes

We now offer Russian in group instruction, which is both cost effective and fun. Group lessons meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in our Boca Raton location. Led by a native speaker who is an experienced teacher, the lessons will focus primarily on oral communication skills — listening and speaking. However, considering that the alphabet is an integral  part of the language, and the fact that Russian is a phonetic language and reading is pretty easy once you have mastered some basic rules, reading and writing will be conducted using the Cyrillic alphabet (it is easier than you think!) Classes are taught using conversational approach to teaching languages which has made our school famous for the last 26 years of it being in existence. The teacher uses a lot of flash cards and other visual aids that enable the new learners of Russian to start associating the newly learned words with pictures in their mind, and thus think in the new language, versus translating to and from English.  A lot of role play, and interactive games make learning Russian fun, however, if you want to truly get your money’s worth, it is highly recommended to do your homework which will be assigned regularly, and to study outside of classroom to make the new language a part of your daily life. If you want to get to a basic conversational level in Russian, or see significant improvement in your skills if you are not a beginner, it is recommended to take a four-month course.
